Take everything one step at a time
i think this is decent
woohoo my college application essay is complete. and i think certain people deserve to read this because they are so important and dear to me =]
When I was a freshman at West Forsyth High school, I was not anyone special and I did not have many close friends. You could say I was lost in the high school world, trying to find out what I should do with my high school experience. I tried to find someone or some place where I could enjoy my last few years of public education. At the time, I tried to become my aunt Tracey because she has always and forever will be my role model. However, she is not the person who has influenced who I have become in these past two years. In fact, there is not one person who was a major influence in my life; instead there are four. Four wonderful girls: Sarah Sheppard, Elizabeth Golden, Chelsey McElwee, and Jennifer Henricks.
Now, I met these four girls last year, and they have made all the difference in my life. At the start of my junior year I was worried. Worried about college. Worried about my classes and my grades. I was so worried that I lost sleep and my grades started dropping, but I did not care because I was prepared to give up and settle on any college that would accept me. Then I met those girls; and every single one of them accepted me into their senior group as if I had always been there. Each one taught me something important that shaped who I am today. Sarah taught me the importance of friendship because if it were not for her I would have never met the other girls. Elizabeth taught me how to have fun my junior year because I had never had a social life until that year. Chelsey taught me that it is completely normal to be awkward in public because before then I was rather shy and quiet, believe it or not. Jennifer taught me that friends are there for each other because friends need each other to talk to about boy problems. But, the most significant thing all four of those girls taught me, whether they knew it or not, was that I should never give up on anything. It is because of them I gained my confidence in school again. It is because of them that I am going where I want to in life. And they have made all the difference. I love them so.
